You might have visited Japanese steakhouse and tasted the famous hibachi chicken. But have you ever tried making this lip-smacking dish at home? Ya I know it’s quite a time taking as well as elaborate, the result is overwhelming. If you do not believe me, try this coming weekend and make your Sunday dinner memorable. You need about 1 hour 30 minutes in hand to pull off this recipe with perfection and it will serve 4 people.

Ingredients

For Making The Hibachi Steak

  • Chicken breast – 5, cut into thin slices
  • Zucchini – 4, green and large
  • White onions – 2
  • Soy sauce – 8 tbsp (low sodium sauce is better)
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mushroom – 16 ounces, sliced
  • Butter – 4 tbsp
  • Salt, pepper and lemon juice – as required

For Preparing The White sauce

  • Mayonnaise – 16 ounces
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Tabasco sauce –  ¼ tsp
  • Garlic juice – ¼ tsp
  • White pepper and black pepper powder – ¼ tsp each
  • Ketchup – 1 Tsp
  • Water – 1/8 cup
  • Paprika – 1 Tsp
  • Mustard powder –  1 Tsp

Fried Rice Preparation

  • Grated carrots – 1
  • Peas – ½ cup
  • Scrambled eggs – 3
  • Parboiled rice – 2 cups
  • Water – 2 ½ cups
  • Unsalted butter – 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 3 tbsp (use low sodium one)
  • Onion – ½ cup, diced

Directions

  • Pour the 21/2 cups water in a large pot and put it on medium flame. When it starts to boil, add the parboiled rice and cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and keep the pot aside with the lid on till the rice absorbed all the water.
  • In the meantime, take a large bowl and add all the ingredients required for making the white sauce. Mix them very well and keep the bowl aside.
  • Now take a skillet and add the unsalted butter. When the butter melts, add the cooked rice, carrots, onion, scrambled eggs and peas and stir properly. Sprinkle salt and say sauce and stir the rice on a high flame. When done, pour the rice in 4 serving plates equally.
  • Take 4 tiny bowls and add the white sauce in each bowl and keep them on 4 plates beside the fried rice.
  • Put 2 skillets on medium flame and add oil in both. In 1 skillet, add butter followed by the slices of chicken breast. Season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper and keep stirring it is done. When the chicken slices are tender, add the chopped mushrooms and mix with the chicken. Add little more soy sauce and black pepper if you need. Add a dash of butter and the lemon juice at the end and toss them gently. Pour it on each plate.
  • In another skillet, add the pieces of onions and zucchini and sprinkle salt, pepper and soy sauce. Cook till the veggies are soft. Add 1 tbsp of butter at last and give them a stir. When the veggies are done, take the skillet off the flame and divide the veggies equally in 4 plates.
