Different Chinese Tomato Egg Recipes

Chinese Tomato Egg recipes are one of the most popular types of dishes in China. These have a sweet and sour taste, with eggs as the main ingredient. The majority of the dishes originated from the Jiangxi province during the Qing Dynasty. Chinese people usually eat these dishes for breakfast or lunch.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Eggs
  • Tomato ketchup
  • Mayonnaise
  • Ginger
  • Garlic cloves
  • Onion powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Cornstarch
  • Bread
  • Olive oil 

Directions 

  1. Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
  2. Heat the frying pan, add olive oil and fry onions until they are transparent (do not burn them).
  3. Add potatoes to the frying pan with onion powder, salt, and pepper; stir well; cover it; turn down the heat to medium-low. 
  4. Separately whisk eggs with salt, pepper, coriander powder, and garlic cloves
  5. Grate ginger into the saucepan where you fried potatoes (make sure that there is no more water in the saucepan)
  6. Mix all ingredients after plain egg(s) have been poured on top of it
  7. Place all ingredients on a plate with a side of bread.
  8. Ketchup and mayonnaise can be added to taste
  9. The Tomato egg sandwich is ready!

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise (optional)
  • Egg noodles prepared according to instructions on the pack

Directions

  1. Heat the frying pan, add olive oil and fry onions until they are transparent (do not burn them).
  2. Add cut tomatoes into the frying pan with salt & pepper to taste; cover it; turn down the heat to medium-low.
  3. Separately whisk eggs with grated ginger, salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
  4. Mix all ingredients after plain egg(s) have been poured on top of it
  5. Place all ingredients on a plate with a side of bread or noodles (e.g spaghetti).

Ingredients

  • large eggs
  • Salt
  • green onion
  • Tomato
  • Bacon or ham

Directions

  1. Beat eggs with a little salt in a bowl, then add cut green onion and chopped tomato.
  2. Pour the mixture into a heated pan with oil – just enough to cover the entire bottom.
  3. Let it cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat without stirring.
  4. Add chopped bacon or ham to the omelet just before it’s done cooking.
  5. Flip the omelet halfway through cooking.
  6. When it’s done cooking, put it on a plate and eat hot with soy sauce stirred in lightly.
