Asian Diet vs Western Diet: Which Is Healthier? Things To Know

Western food is unhealthy if compared to the Asian Diet, not because it is Western food. Asian food is healthy, not because it is Asian food.

The reason for Western food to be called as unhealthy is mainly due to how food, in general, to consume in the west.

1. Asian cuisine has a significant portion of carbohydrate and vegetables, typically with a small piece of meat.

2. When Asian have meat, it is more likely, not red meat.

3. When Asians have carbohydrate, it is more likely not wheat-based, and it is almost sure that it would be rice.

4. In Asian cuisine, dessert after a meal is not a common thing. When they do have dessert, it usually consists of fruits compare to natural high sugar and wheat-based dessert in Western cuisine.

5. And to a certain extent of unhealthiness depend on who you’re asking, Asian cuisine uses little to none of the dairy products in their food.

Why Is Western Diet Unhealthy?

I mean there is a reason why European/western country like Italy individually Sardinia is listed as one of the 5 Blue Zones of the world. The Sardinian people like most if not all Italian, eat lesser protein portion, and it is usually not red meat, more likely to be seafood when they do have some protein. Seventh-day Adventists in Loma Linda, California, which is part of so-called western countries are also one of the 5 Blue Zones, doesn’t even eat meat.

Which Is The Best Asian Diet?

You’re essentially making a massive umbrella over all foods made in Asia and then asking ‘which is best’. Are we talking about China and its five regional variations? (never mind all the local varieties of each regional variations and more. I know one of them is ‘plain’ in a way while another is known for its spiciness) Or India? Japanese food or Russian? Filipino food or Turkish food?. Or food from another Asian country? Asia is a continent and its very difficult to recommend which Asian country has the best type of food. Even if you should divide it up, even more, there will still be many countries with its variations and regional specialties and differences to consider.

There’s also the fact that many dishes are western and you can’t find it if you do visit the original country. Or they might be adapted to the taste-buds in your state or what the restaurant owner thinks will sell the best. And which types of Asian restaurants you do have available. My recommendation is to focus on each country’s food and then try small variations of dishes. Or even better; get to know someone from that country and be invited to eat proper home-cooked meals from that country. There’s also lists on the web on recommended Chinese dishes (unless it’s divided by region many of the dishes will be the western versions), or Indian dishes or other. People’s taste buds are different, and until you try, you won’t know which Asian food’s that you will prefer and find tastes best to your palate. (enter such a restaurant and ask for recommendation.. and perhaps also ask for authentic food.
